Innovation is a key success factor within the Manitowoc group, and it is for this reason that the EMEA Cranes Division headquarters in Ecully, France, has developed a new international innovation platform for Tower Cranes. This platform will enable talented engineers and specialists to work together on truly international projects with their homologues in China, the US, Germany, Italy and Portugal, etc.

Due to an increase in new projects within the innovation platform, Manitowoc Cranes EMEA has opened up 2 new positions within the Design Centre team for Tower Cranes:

System Architect Engineer Tower Cranes (M/F)
Based in Ecully, France

Reporting to the System Architect Manager for Tower Cranes, the System Architect proposes and develops innovative concepts for the Tower Crane product lines worldwide, interacting with Senior Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customers.

Main responsibilities :
• Generate “out of the box” thinking to solve problems.
• Manage the concepts to prove feasibility, provide necessary assistance to commercialize the concept.
• Interface with Tower Crane sales and marketing globally, participate in VOC interviews.
• Interface with third party partners and universities as necessary to develop innovative concepts.
• Understand the global competitors’ products, their strengths and weaknesses. Regularly attend trade shows to see competitors’ new products.
• Regularly witness field operations to better understand Manitowoc and competitors products.
• Suggest and develop improvement ideas.

Profile :

? Excellent university degree in an Engineering discipline
? Minimum of 8 years professional experience in tower cranes (new product development, product innovation…)
? Proven ability to develop concrete concepts and influence a matrix organization on new product development
? Ability to listen and understand in the customer’s context, develop a proper problem definition, propose original thinking to solve the problem.
? Experience working in a matrix organization and motivation to work in such a structure
? Excellent linguistic ability in English and a minimum level of French is necessary.
? Open to mobility
